Graded Reader App for Language Learners

Use TortoLingua as a graded-reader-style app when you need short, level-matched reading sessions with vocabulary and audio support.

Short reading sessions when fixed levels do not fit

Graded readers are valuable because they make reading possible before native books are comfortable. The limitation is that a fixed reader level can be too easy on one topic and too hard on another. TortoLingua gives you a graded-reader-style path in shorter sessions: choose a language, read a manageable text, use support only when needed, and adjust the next session.

This is useful when you want the benefits of level-matched reading without committing to a whole book that may not fit today.

The goal is the same as extensive reading: enough understanding to keep going, enough new language to keep learning. If you want the research background, start with extensive reading for language learning.

Pick the right difficulty

Use the 95% vs 98% reading coverage guide as a warning system, then trust the session. If you are pausing every sentence, choose an easier text. If you finish comfortably, add volume before you chase difficulty.

When you want book recommendations too, use the graded reader finder alongside TortoLingua. The best routine can combine both: longer graded readers for sustained reading, and short app sessions for daily contact.

If you already have an authorized TXT, EPUB, or MOBI file that fits your level, continue with the read-your-own-books path for the verified import limits, privacy model, contextual translation, and resume workflow. For Korean, pair controlled texts with the Korean reading practice path rather than treating a level label as a fluency or exam guarantee.
